The Recertification course is open to graduates of qualified wilderness medicine programs of at least 64 hours in length completed within the past three years, including most WFR courses and National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care. Successful completion results in full Wilderness Medical Associates® WFR or WEMT certification, including Basic Life Support and CPR, valid for three years.

Currently certified Wilderness Medical Associates® WFR and WEMT graduates are automatically eligible. Graduates of other programs must be able to produce a verifiable certificate or training record. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please contact us.

You must register at least two weeks prior to the course start to allow time for completion of the pre-course study package. Attendance for the full three days is required, as is a passing grade on practical sessions, quizzes, and the final exam.

The course occupies eight to nine hours each day. Much of the training will be conducted outdoors. Students should come prepared to deal with rain or snow and rugged terrain. If you have any questions about this, or any other aspect of this course, please contact us. Thank you.
